Satanic Sluts
The Satanic Sluts were created in 2003 during one of Redemption's occasional bleak periods which we seem to experience every few years. This was at a time when we had battled a major distributor and eventually won though the battle had seen both our UK and US income virtually wiped out and all the staff go except for Louise Ross (a shareholder) who was still helping where she could in between looking after her mum who was very ill at the time. I was beginning to build things up and the website seemed a good place to start. I'd become very conscious during this time of all the alternative / goth girls on Live Journal (now a distant memory) and thought that their thoughts might make for an interesting book. I liked the idea of taking snippets each day from a selection of different, interesting girls and building the book up, a year in the life kind of thing with lots of visuals of course. It never happened but it made me very aware of just how much talent and female energy there was on line. I also became aware of sites like Gothic Sluts and Suicide Girls and some how these three elements became in my mind the Satanic Sluts.
So I got my designer to create a Satanic Sluts section on our main site (www.salvation-films.com) and started contacting girls that I knew like Morrigan Hel and Dischordia and also wrote to women I liked the look of, or fancied, and asked if they wanted to join. They didn't really get a lot at that stage other than there on section on what was, and continues to be, a pretty busy site. Within a few months I guess we had some 30 plus girls and people were starting to take notice, including the leading rock magazine Metal Hammer and exploitation film magazine DVD World who both started featuring the girls regularly.
Next came an official Satanic Slut site (www.satanic-sluts.com), a calendar courtesy of DVD World, a video and best of all our club Black Mass (see Black Mass section on this site for pictures and more background) which was the only club in the world to be officially sanctioned by the Church of Satan and which allowed the girls to meet up with each other and to perform. From that point there have been more films, a book, and a new book in the pipeline, posters, the Jonathan Ross/Russell Brand scandal and more. Currently a new club, Hydra is planned, more new SS films, and a new Face Book style website is in preparation for launch in 2010 so the Satanic Sluts should soon be bigger that ever.
This section though is really a more private take on the SS and individual members, events that I personally liked or was involved in, my ideas around the Satanic Sluts, scripts, influences and so on. Through the Black Mass Club I got to know many of the Satanic Sluts and obviously many of the original members I knew personally anyway, now though with over 300 Satanic Sluts and new SS members joining all the time I know less individual members but at the same time with so much new filming and a new book, SS magazine and club in preparation I'm sure that there will be much to report and get excited about the next generation SS.
